One of Houma’s recently vacated light industrial facilities will soon be the new home to a local, family-owned Surveying, Engineering, and Environmental Services firm. Logan Babin Real Estate is pleased to announce the purchase of the former Halliburton facility at 116 Venture Blvd. in Houma by H4, LLC. Morris P. Hebert, Inc., which opened in Houma in 1980 and now has offices in several states, plans to occupy the former oilfield services yard as its new corporate headquarters.
The property contained 6 lots (totaling 6.282 acres) in the industrial business parks off of Highway 311 and had multiple buildings with 68,200 SF of Gross Building Area. Approximately 10,200 SF was office space while the remaining 58,000 SF was spread out in 7 other warehouse and shop buildings. The site was improved with almost 90-95% coverage of heavy concrete.
“When the facility was listed this summer, our firm had multiple clients that were interested,” said Logan “Hank” Babin, III, co-agent for the buyers. “This included publicly traded, global energy firms as well as local investors. But we knew that MPH was planning on a new headquarters and we thought this may be a good alternative for them. After careful study, they agreed and we are pleased that we were able to facilitate a transaction that will help this local, family-owned business continue to expand.”
This transaction also represents the first closing for Ed Bice, agent at Logan Babin Real Estate, who assisted with the buyers.
